Neighbors Sharing with Neighbors in Crisis is proud to announce the opening of
FORGET ME NOT PET SANCTUARY
This affiliated program is designed to help families in crisis who have loved pets by providing temporary care for the family pet until the household can regain stability. This will prevent loved pets from taking space in shelters and causing trama to the household members by having to give up a loved pet.
Currently the santucary is home to 22 dogs, 8 cats, 9 ferrets, 2 chincillas, 2 rabbits, 3 gerbils, and 5 gineuea pigs. Families or seniors who need help with care of a pet during a transition or crisis include Seniors or singles who have to go into a hospital for a time and do not have anyone to care for the pet during thier hospital stay. Families or seniors who have been evicted and need time to find a new location that allows pets.
Accident victims whos animal is with them and family needs to be arranged to pick up the pet that has survived the accident.
Domestic Violence victims that have to flee their abuser who the pet would not be safe with.
These are just some of the situaitons Forget Me Not has helped pet owners through in the last 5-years. Now as an official agency, this group will be reaching out to help more pet owners provide a safe temporary home for their pet during a crisis.
